"Here is the good news: When you flourish, you become more you. You become more that person God had in mind when he thought you up. You don't just become holier. You become you-ier." John Ortberg This is a place where I process becoming the me I want to be. This is where you can join me in becoming more me-ier.

Emeralds
Cotton candy, lemonade, corn dogs, funnel cakes, snow cones, lemonade, and kettle corn always top the list of my favorites at the fair. Have you ever noticed they just don't taste as good at home? There is something about the atmosphere of being at the fair. The bright lights of the rides, the calls of the carnies on the fairway, the laughter and squeals of people having fun, and the loud music. People are happy at the fair.
I love to wander through the exhibit barns and see what people have submitted. The above pillow caught my eye. The obvious reason is that I am a May bride. But my favorite part is the story behind it. What the little note attached says is (in my own paraphrase) this: "80 years ago grandma did the embroidery on the pillow. This last year her grand daughter and her great grand daughter pulled it out of a closet and finished off the pillow." It doesn't say if grandma is alive today to see the finished project. But something about three generations at work on one project makes me smile.
