Spread a little love

"The greatest disease in the West today is not TB or leprosy; it is being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for. We can cure physical diseases with medicine, but the only cure for loneliness, despair, and hopelessness is love. There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread but there are many more dying for a little love. The poverty in the West is a different kind of poverty - it is not only a poverty of loneliness but also of spirituality. There's a hunger for love, as there is a hunger for God." -Mother Teresa

Do you buy that? I do because I suffer from that disease far too often than I'd like to admit. And I believe Jesus had the antidote for the "greatest disease". If each of us would look 5 people in the eye this next week and express some creative action and words of love, who knows what the outcome could be? Be a wounded healer in the way of our leader.

This was the challenge put forth in an email from our church this week. It was such a great reminder that I need to be looking outward just as much as I'm looking inward. I'm going to look for the opportunity to look 5 people in the eye and creatively love them this week. Will you also take up the challenge?

If so please share your story of how you creatively loved someone this week. I'll post mine as well.
