Getting ready for the Beast and Anticipating the Summer

We are getting a dog. And not just any dog a St. Bernard. He is for my son Cale. The hope is that the dog will go a long way toward given Cale a companion and a way to socialize with others. The dog will hopefully be loyal to Cale for all his life. That gives Cale someone to love and be loved in return without the Asperger's getting in the way. Cale seems to really be looking forward to getting the dog. So here's hoping.

We are also anticipating sending both Cale and Ila to summer camp this year. Not quite sure how we going to afford it, but I am not going to worry about it. Summer camp and camping are really on my mind of late because of the great time I had last summer with the Cale and Dante. My hope is that for Cale and me that camping can be our thing. Dante will have many things like sports, girls, and guy stuff. Cale for me has been a struggle. I want to have a thing just he and I do, but I don't want it to be a technology thing. I think Asperger's kids get wrapped up to much in technology. My dream is that camping will be something that cuts through the issues Cale and I have to get us to really know one another.
